Kids, Teens

& Families

It might sound strange to say it but a big part of growing up is learning how to identify, express and cope with emotions in a healthy, productive way. Moreover, adolescents are often experiencing big emotions for the first time.

When young people don’t yet have the ability to match their inner emotions with the right words, they start to express themselves through actions. They may act in ways that seem like they don't make "sense." This is where we (therapists, psychologists) come in!

When young people

don’t yet have the

ability to match their

inner emotions with

the right words …

They start to express

themselves through actions.

We believe that parents are the expert on their child and you know when something isn’t going well at home or at school. As therapists we believe that our job is to act as a translator so that children, teens and parents understand each other.

We help families make important tweeks to their daily routine to find something that works for everyone. And of course how to label and lessen intense emotions independently and with your help.

Often times, both young people and their parents feel alone when things aren’t going quite right and really want to be able to express themselves and ask for guidance in a nonjudgemental space.

We will work with you to figure out how to make sure that your child/adolescent’s strengths, weaknesses, and unique abilities interact with their environment. And of course how to be present for them when they are having a tough time.

If you feel that you and your child/adolescent may benefit from extra support, feel free to reach out! We value having a strong therapeutic relationship with parents and their children, to ensure the family feels supported.
