Dr. Rischa Gottlieb, Ph.D.

Dr. Gottlieb is a NYS licensed clinical psychologist. As a helping professional she believes that each person is doing the best they can in any given moment and that therapy can help build on innate strength so that they can do more. Dr. Gottlieb approaches therapy through the lens that all people are whole and unbroken as they are.  Therapy does not change people, rather it helps them to develop the skills they need to live in a way that is consistent with the life they want to live.

As a biracial queer person of Haitian and Jewish descent, Dr. Gottlieb thinks about the way our environments shape the way we relate to ourselves and move through the world around us.  Dr. Gottlieb enjoys taking an expansive approach to wellness and change that makes evidence-based practices accessible to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks.

Dr. Gottlieb approaches treatment with connection, compassion and humor.  She believes in meeting you where you are and building forward from there. She uses an integrative approach, including ACT, CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused interventions. She is committed to providing culturally humble care that considers the impact of individual and cultural identity on one's view of life.
